Thrift is THRIVING! Thank
you to all who have dedicated time, efforts and have donated items to the
S.O.S Thrift Shop. If we keep in the direction we are heading
now, it is looking really good for the future!
Donations are ALWAYS welcome to the shop. As long as the clothing, toy and household items are gently used
but not abused we will accept them. Please drop off the items to the store during regular store hours, 1:00 to 4:00 PM Tuesday and Saturday.

Cove United Methodist Church Reaches Out
We believe we have a direct responsibility for people in the “world” around our church. This includes our immediate church community and others who study, work, shop, and play in the community at large.
In this world are people with many hurts, doubts, and questions.
There are some who are new in the community and feel a little lost, some who are proudly self-sufficient, and others who are in desperate circumstances.
Our mission is to reach out to them, listen to them, accept them, share the gospel in word and deed, invite them into the family of faith, and joyfully receive all who will respond.
WE INVITE YOU TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR RICH THEOLOGICAL HERITAGE
Putting faith and love into action has continued to be a hallmark of The United Methodist Church
TAKING AN ACTIVE STANCE IN SOCIETY IS NOTHING NEW FOR UNITED METHODISTS
We are a denomination involved with people's lives, with political and social struggles, combining personal and social piety.
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS OUR RESPONSE TO GOD'S LOVE AND GRACE
The Christian faith is grounded in the love and grace of God, experienced through Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
WE HAVE A MISSION TO MAKE DISCIPLES
The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ. Local churches provide the most significant arena through which disciple-making occurs.
A Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition
I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed b thee or laid aside for thee. Exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, Let it be ratified in Heaven. Amen.
John Wesley's Spirit
I am not afraid that the people called Methodist should ever cease to exist in either Europe or America. But I am afraid lest they should only exist as a dead sect, having the form of religion without the power. And this undoubtedly will be the case, unless they hold fast to both the doctrine, spirit, and discipline with which they first set out. (in Works [vol.13; Jackson edition, 1879], 258)
